Information we collect
We may collect your name, billing and delivery address, email address, telephone number, order and transaction details, messages you send us, marketing preferences, reviews or survey responses, and technical information such as IP address, device, browser, website activity and cookie choices. Payment card details are processed securely by the payment provider shown at checkout; we do not receive or store your full card number.
How and why we use your information
We use your information to take payment, process and deliver orders, provide QR-code meditation access, respond to enquiries, manage returns and complaints, prevent fraud, keep our website secure, meet tax, accounting, product-safety and other legal obligations, understand and improve our shop, and send marketing where permitted.
Our lawful bases are: performance of a contract when we process an order or respond before a purchase; legal obligation when records or product-safety action are required; legitimate interests for customer service, fraud prevention, security and proportionate business improvement; and consent for optional marketing and non-essential cookies where consent is required. You may withdraw consent at any time.
Marketing
We will send promotional emails only where we have a lawful basis to do so. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in a marketing email or by contacting us. Unsubscribing from marketing will not stop essential messages about an order. We do not sell your personal information.
Who we share information with
We share only what is necessary with trusted service providers that help us run the business, such as Wix as our website and e-commerce platform, payment processors, delivery companies, email and marketing providers, analytics and IT providers, accountants and professional advisers. We may also disclose information where required by law, to regulators or law-enforcement bodies, or in connection with a business sale or reorganisation. Service providers may use information only for the agreed purpose or as otherwise permitted by law.
International transfers
Some service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where this happens, we require an appropriate legal safeguard, such as UK adequacy regulations, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the UK Addendum to approved standard contractual clauses, or another lawful mechanism.
How long we keep information
We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purpose collected. Order, invoice and accounting records are generally retained for six years after the end of the relevant company financial year, or longer where law or an active dispute requires it. Customer-service records are kept only as long as reasonably needed to resolve the matter and protect legal rights. Marketing information is kept until you unsubscribe or we determine it is no longer current. Cookie durations are shown in the cookie preference centre.
Security
We use appropriate organisational and technical measures designed to protect personal information. No online system is completely secure, but access is limited to those who need it and our service providers are selected with data protection in mind.
Your rights to privacy
Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to ask for access to your personal information, correction, erasure, restriction, objection, or transfer to another provider, and to withdraw consent. You also have the right not to be subject to certain solely automated decisions. To exercise a right, contact lisa@happymatliving.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
Complaints and changes
Please contact us first if you have a privacy concern so we can try to resolve it. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We may update this notice when our services or legal duties change; the latest version and date will appear on this page.
